O' Christmas Tree

I wasn't so sure this year that we needed a Christmas Tree (it's the grinch is me that can come out every once in a while- just ask Brett); we had missed a couple of opportunities to go cut a tree so it meant that we would have to be purchasing our tree from a tree lot which meant ca-ching. As Christmas neared I realized that we hadn't decorated the house and the ornaments we got this year looked pretty sad just sitting on the kitchen counter. The only solution was to get out of my grinchy mood and go tree shopping with Brett.

This year we decided to go the tree that Brett's family always gets; its called a Silver Tip and I found out that by referring to it as a "Charlie Brown tree" is insulting, who knew? My family was always the Douglas Fir, for a long time of the artificial variety and then venturing into the live stuff more recently. It's interesting as our marriage goes on to meld our traditions and what we are used to.

The Charlie Brown tree is growing on me, who knows maybe we will never go back to the Douglas Fir. Or maybe Brett will let me get this artificial tree:

come on how much fun would that be?

I also wanted to share with you this year's ornaments, we always end up getting 2 ornaments; one each. Brett got a Twilight Zone ornament complete with light up tv screen and it also plays the Twilight Zone theme, it's amazing how many times it "accidentally" goes off.

Then I picked out this Peanuts ornament with Snoopy and Woodstock on a train, it is just so cute. It's amazing how many Charlie Brown/Peanuts ornaments we have collected over the years.

Now, I am really starting to get into the Christmas spirit which I guess is a good thing since there is really less than a week until Christmas.

It looks great! The charlie brown tree looks nicer than I had originally imagined. I of course LOVE the white tree but I can see how that was vetoed. Maybe he would go for a pink one? :)

I love the Charlie Brown Christmas tree! It's adorable.

I've always wanted to go and pick out the saddest looking tree on the lot, since no one else does... Is that weird?
